The automatic rotating atomization-type cooling tower achieves the purpose of reducing water temperature through the conduction of heat between circulating cooling water and cold, dry air, as well as the evaporation of circulating cooling water to carry away latent heat of vaporization.
Circulating cooling water with a certain pressure enters the cooling tower through the inlet pipe. Under the action of the swirling injection of the atomizer, it is atomized into mist with a diameter of 0.1mm and sprayed toward the top of the tower. The reactionary force generated by the injection drives the automatic rotating device to rotate, causing the atomized water to fill the entire tower.
The axial flow fan installed at the top of the tower rotates, forcefully drawing in cold, dry air from the surrounding environment through the inlet window, which then interacts with the circulating cooling water for mass and heat transfer inside the cooling tower. The mist sprayed by the atomizer has a fast flow rate and carries and entrains air, creating a certain negative pressure around the atomizer, increasing the air extraction volume and inlet air velocity from the surrounding environment. This also induces the bottom air to flow upward, causing the cold, dry air to mix and contact more fully with the water mist (gas-to-water ratio can reach about 1.2). The particles of the atomized water flow are further refined, with diameters decreasing to 0.01mm. The misted air, after full mixing with water, is sprayed upward onto the water collector installed at the top of the tower, where water is intercepted and returns to the cooling tower in a water curtain shape. The heat in the air and water is discharged outside the tower via the water collector.
From the above working process, it can be seen that the circulating cooling water undergoes three processes: ascending, suspension, and descending, inside the cooling tower.
At the same time, there are two processes of countercurrent cooling and concurrent cooling. Therefore, the contact time with cold, dry air is longer and more sufficient, resulting in more heat being taken away. Moreover, since the filling is eliminated, there is no air resistance phenomenon, reducing the power of the motor that drives the fan rotation, thereby reducing operating costs and increasing the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet water.
Additionally, the contact area between atomized water and air far exceeds that of a fill-type cooling tower. Based on these points, the thermal exchange efficiency of the atomization-type cooling tower is higher, the motor power for fan selection is smaller, and the energy-saving effect is more pronounced.
